The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican-American War and completed the American expansion to both coasts.  The Gadsden Purchase was actually reduced by the US Senate from what was originally agreed to buy the Mexican Govt, which included baja California.

The actual end to continental US border disputes was the American-Mexican Chamizal Convention Act of 1964 which finally settled the US/Mexico border to its present day conditions.
