auto warranty
I have a 2004 car with a 4 year, 50 thousand mile bureau warranty. we purchased a car brand new from a dealership in June, 2004. So, does a guaranty end 4 years from a date of strange squeeze (ie, Jun 2008) or 4 years from a indication year of a car (I’m guessing Jan 2008 then)??

Thanks so much.

The warranty starts from the first date the vehicle was put into service.

Yup, it’s the purchase date.

They didn’t say 4 1/2 years, did they? The meter starts when you sign the paper.

It’s the day you purchased the vehicle.
If you signed the papers to buy the car on June 15, 2004, then your warranty expires on June 15, 2008 (or 50,000, whichever is first).

This would also be true if you bought a used car and inherited the balance of a factory warranty from an original owner.
For example, say someone bought your car in your example on May 1, 2006. The factory warranty (4 year, 50K miles) would transfer over, meaning that it would expire for them on June 15, 2008, as well.
