Shockey is a pro play te. All a giants got in lapse is a second turn as well as 5th turn breeze collect in a 2009 draft. Did a giants not get sufficient in this trade?

I think the Saints got the better deal here. The Giants might know something about Shockey’s health though. I think they just wanted rid of him and made the best deal they could.

Shockey wasn’t happy in NY, but it will give Kevin Boss a good opportunity to show his stuff. Boss was good in the playoffs. I think both teams won here.

Both teams got a good deal, but the saints got a better deal. Brees helped gates enter stardom, and Brees is a quick passer who goes for shorter routes, and shockey is a big guy who can do that. He is also young(27) and extremely talented. Shockey will be a great fit with brees, colston, and bush. Our offense is now stacked. With the addition of Vilma and now Shockey the Saints will be a major contendor and with the NFC wide open I expect them to easily make the playoffs and they have a great chance to get to the superbowl.
Well Shockey is one of the at least top 10 TE’s in The NFL. Be careful if he is 5th or better too. I think Brees needed a TE like this. Its hard when you leave a team that has the #1 TE Antonio Gates. I think this will make the Aints the Saints this year. I also think Shockey’s chemistry with the Giants was shot. Although if they wanted to throw him away, get Favre for him and really make a hype. Eli, Favre the Bayou Boys share QB roll and repeat.

This is “addition by subtraction” for the Giants. Shockey has always been a “whining prima-donna”! As seen this past season, when Eli doesn’t have Shockey to “keep happy”, he makes better decisions with the football. That means “less mistakes”. Was it a “good deal” for N.Y.? It depends on what they “do” with the picks.
The Saints needed a good TE. Drew Brees won’t put up with Shockey’s B/S. Personally, Shockey needs to S-T-F up, and play. He needs to be in playing shape to be on the field. He needs to run the damn route the play calls for, so the ball won’t get intercepted! The change of scenery may be good, or bad. It’s up to him.
